Established in 1925 Sherwood Arboretum features a collection of more than 1,000 Australian native trees comprised of more than 250 species. This heritage-listed park features Brisbane’s most extensive collection of Australian trees. Covering 15 hectares, the Sherwood Arboretum showcases and preserves our distinctive native flora.
The arboretum is a great place to spend an afternoon. While there you can picnic in the shade of a Moreton Bay fig, walk down the impressive avenue of towering Kauri pines and photograph the colourful flame trees. Sherwood Arboretum is also a sprawling riverside park with large grassy spaces, lakes, playgrounds and a boardwalk along the Brisbane River. It’s the perfect place to picnic, learn about nature and relax.
